BIOGRAFIA E ABSTRACT
Enrico Bani (Pisa, 1996) studied Art Graphics at the Aca-demy of Fine Arts in Carrara, where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. He enriched his studies with an Erasmus experience at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and is currently an intern at the Druckwerk studio in Vienna.
Through art, graphics and its experimental techniques, the artist explores a path in the contemporary field, pla-cing at the center of his research and experimentation writing and its primal component: the letter.
The letter, already of an abstract matrix, deconstructs itself into signs completely external to conventional graphemes, it frees itself and manifests itself as an illu-strative and material sign in space, acquiring new forms and meanings.
Everything comes from experiences, born from the ur-ban context, in which the metropolitan environment is the protagonist of investigation, becoming more intima-te and linked to the expressive languages that it offers. The city, with its stratifications, its walls, its modules, is a space of inquiry and reality of phenomenons, a place of fundamental experiences for the artist’s research.
The journey through the metropolis, with its cultural in-fluences, constitutes the genesis for the second part of his artistic expression, manifesting itself in more modern conceptual marks and forms.
The practical aspect of his work is never apart from the onedirected to “wall painting”, from the influences of Action Painting and the inclination for the seriality of the images, necessary in a conceptual and installative perspective for the deformal construction of the letter.
