Monoprint and drypoint on pape
‘The Dancers’ Print Series
The prints in this series are created by inking the scrim fabric normally used to wipe etching plates. Their visible texture creates interesting and flowing shapes that suggest a sense of moment and dynamism. The whole monoprint is printed in only one pass, byb inking an aluminium plate and by laying the inked scrim on top.
The scrim is arranged in particular ways, but ultimately folds and turns in unexpected ways when passing through the press. This process expelifies the balance between the artist’s intention and the power of chance in creating images.
