More than 120 artists apply to OPEN Bilbao 2025
The call for the 12th edition of the International Emerging Printmaking Gathering closes with an outstanding response
The Open Portfolio team would like to thank you for the incredible response to the call for the 12th edition of OPEN Bilbao. The submission period closed on July 21st at 23:59 CET, and we received over 120 applications from artists across various countries and continents, with a notable presence of artists from the Basque Country.
The submissions stood out for their creative strength, technical diversity, and artistic quality. We now begin the review process, in which we will select the 14 artists who will take part in the International Emerging Printmaking Gathering.
When will the selected artists be announced?
The results will be communicated via email later this week and published on our website and social media channels.
When and where will OPEN Bilbao 2025 take place?
This year’s edition will be held from September 26 to 28 at Sala Rekalde in Bilbao. Over three days, the selected artists will share their work, techniques, and experiences in a space open to dialogue and the public.

With eleven years of experience, OPEN Portfolio has become an international reference in the field of contemporary printmaking. Throughout its editions, more than 250 emerging artists have participated in the platform, strengthening its commitment to professional growth, visibility, and creative exchange.
